Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Hung Parliament offers a unique “live-motion VR deductive adventure,” available on Quest next week.
Supporting solo play and up to four players, Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Hung Parliament uses live-action FMV with professional theatre actors. Written by Anthony Spargo and Les Enfants Terribles’ Artistic Director Oliver Lansley, you travel between crime scenes across London, interrogating characters and searching for clues before building a case against your prime suspect in the ‘Mind Fortress.’
Here’s the official description, courtesy of its App Lab page:
With three cabinet members already murdered by hanging and Sherlock Holmes missing in action, it is up to you to find the killer before Big Ben strikes midnight. Interrogate suspects, analyse crime scenes, collect evidence, and enter your ‘Mind Palace’ to construct a compelling case in this ‘Whodunit’ that will push your deduction skills to their limits. Play alone or with friends to make this a social sleuthing experience you will never forget.
“This kind of technology is still relatively untapped in the theatre world, and so we’re excited to be among some of the first to explore the potential,” says James Seager, Creative Director of Les Enfants Terribles. “After the challenges faced by the arts and entertainment industry throughout the pandemic, we’ve had to really take stock of what’s important to the audience and, most importantly, our community. That’s why we’re channelling our energy into creating a more accessible, immersive experience that you can enjoy from wherever you’re based.”
Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Hung Parliament officially releases for the Meta Quest platform on June 15. Otherwise, you can buy the “in development” version right now on App Lab and SideQuest.
